We are working on a solution that will work with that delta. As we’re finding out there are several variations of the CNC Depot VFD out in the world and I think what we came up with will work for all of them.

Brian,
I talked with Ahren a few moments ago, and this is what they/we are planning to do:
You currently have the white/black wire from the 14-pin connector (as 5v ground) connected to the relay 6 common. You will want to jumper that wire to relay 4 as well so that they both have a 5v ground common. Then, just like you have the orange/black wire from the 14-pin connector wire to the relay 6 output for drawbar control, you will also wire the green/black wire to the relay 4 output for case pressure/fan control. Eric/Ahren will guide us from there on using those 2 outputs to control drawbar, and case pressure/fan, respectively, just like in Mach.
Does that make sense?

Ok I got the orange/blk and the green/black hooked up but the white/blk I am unclear on I took a pic of the under side of the interconnect board maybe you could point out where to jump the ground to.

With the new scripts can I make 1 tool path with multiple bits having the spindle stop for each tool change which I am doing manually and then continue?

Ok so I am attempting to run the program. When I put in a new bit by opening the drawbar I am amble to close it by pushing cycle start or stop. When I use the MTC button it moves over the tool setter and says it’s going to open the drawbar to push Y which releases the tool and then it says to push cycle start to close the drawbar. The problem is the drawbar does not close and it attempts to measure the tool. If I push cycle stop the program cancels. Am I doing this wrong?

I received the EX-CNCD-01 package. what is the difference in the EX-CNCD-02 to make this retrofit work? What do I need to make up the difference and complete the instructions?

I’m working with a newer gen CNCDepot spindle with the Delta EL it arrived with.
I’ve followed the above instructions to a T and triple-checked everything, including continuity in all newly involved wires,
The drawbar responds to the momentary toggle switch mounted on the spindle but not to the VCP’s new Drawbar button. In addition the Relay1&2 slides on the VCP are not responsive.
So there’s that.
And, is mapping the case pressure to the Relay2 button a requisite?
if one preferred manually engaging the case/drawbar air system and were interested in just an ATCPressureCheck via sensor input signal rather than taking up the VCP’s Relay2 button does that ruin the party?
Would the previous version of the guide be more applicable?

Be careful in using that window. You can override/disable outputs and inputs pretty easily by clicking around in that tool. It’s possible that you have inadvertently disabled something.
I can take a look at your profile to see if anything’s amiss. Do this:
In the Profile Manager right click your profile and hit export. Then go to [FileMail.com](http://FileMail.com) and upload it there. Post the link in this thread and I’ll be able to take a look.

Oh yeah for sure been under the hood and gettin greasey.
Read up and dove in when I realized the machine wouldn’t run without inverting a number of the inputs… I’ve never learned anything by doing it right.

Hello, just wanted to let you know on my box the white/black wire is used as a ground wire that connects to the 5 volt relays in the cncdepot box.

So the uploaded profile was after some troubleshooting trying to better understand what was going on with the inverted defaults and the _UnclampTool_ was relocated to output 4 temporarily as an experiment. The wiring to the cncdepot drawbar relay was the issue and is now fixed (along with _UnclampTool_ being relocated to output 6.
My former setup had a seperate drawbar signal wire from the Avid control board to the cncdepot drawbar relay. It wouldn’t surprise me if cncdepot’s setups vary considering their meteoric growth and evolution.
So I guess it may be worth noting that the white/black and orange/black wires from the 14-pin connector may not have been used for the cncdepot drawbar relay signal in the past.
FWIW here’s my original cncdepot box with the correct EX drawbar signal wires (where there once was an independent Mach4 wire)

I took a look at your profile and I didn’t see anything that was a big red flag…
Couple of question though: is this a servo machine or a stepper machine?
Also I didn’t see any of the CNCdepot scripts installed, and I didn’t see the drawbar output configured…
