It’s not recommended to use a game controller on a CNC, especially on the EX controls.

Game controllers are at best unreliable, and a safety risk.

The recommendation is to use this: [Wireless Control Pendant | Avid CNC](https://www.avidcnc.com/wireless-control-pendant-p-1401.html)

It’s designed and built to be used with the EX controls, and has low level access to the motion control so you get really nice action from it.

I looked at it but it says it won’t work with Mach 4. That is what I have on my avid that I bought last year

I apologize I thought you said you have an EX controller.

As far as game controllers for Mach I know there are some third party plugins that support them. We (Avid) don’t support any of those but there are definitely folks out here that are using them maybe one of them will chime in here.

I use a cheap wireless remote control …did not even bother to map any buttons…

it does save time

but yes Centroid one is far superior
