Background: Having produced nothing more complicated on a 3d printer than a dachshund that sits on the top of the tube and poops toothpaste; and, wanting a 6 inch dust drop for our Avid, I set out to print Corbin’s ATC dust shoe. It printed beautifully, but my technique kept producing a t-track/slot for the brush that was just a bit too small for the brush to be threaded through. I tried several brands/types of filament and even braved the voodoo that is the combination of printing and filament profiles. No luck. Lots of good looking/non-functional dust shoe parts scattered around, though.

So, I messaged Corbin. Though he was out camping, he replied. He asked for and I provided measurements for the brush, and soon enough there was delivered a revised .stl of the problem (to me!) parts. First print using 3d Fuel (I went with PCTG - wow, what a great material) and 3D fuel’s custom profiles for Bambu) is perfect. The brush is not too loose and not too tight. It is just perfect.

I thanked Corbin and offered compensation - he replied with a “Great - glad it fits.” So, a sincere thank you to Corbin for his help. His brand of humble helpfulness isn’t all that common anymore.

Jim
