I am attempting to make connecting cable for My KP-3 probe. I have the 3.5mm to open end cable that came with the probe. I also have a M12 male to female cable. My question is what do i do with the shielding on the M12 cable? Just terminate and not connect it to anything on the 3.5mm side

This is for the KP1 probe that Centroid sells: [https://www.centroidcnc.com/dealersupport/schematics/uploads/S15263.r3.pdf](https://www.centroidcnc.com/dealersupport/schematics/uploads/S15263.r3.pdf)

This will show how to wire it into our control box. I am not sure if the KP3 is different, but you may need to ask Centroid for clarification

The KP3 is different. It is a 3 wire solution. Search for adding a kp3 probe.

The gist of it that if you still have aux 3 open on an EX controller you can do it without any changes to the controller box.
