# Need help hooking up spindle

this is a FM 4hp from cnc depot. i followed the guide that cnc depot said to use and hooked up 3 of the wires that come out of the 14 pin connector into the avid box. where do the other 5 go? The wires I still have are- red, red-black, blue, blue-black, and green

Not sure if you’re on Mach or EX but you can check out the pinout of the 14 pin cable here:

If you want to see how it’s wired into an EX controller you can check here (the 14 pin cable pinout is the same between Mach and EX)

mine is using mach 4. these are my 2 things i’m trying to figure out

1. the drawbar doesn’t move when i hit the button in mach 4

2. it says “ptc fault signal triggered” in mach when i try to power on the spindle or start the warm up procedure. I hear a little blast of air so it is trying to do something.

I got it working with some info from corbin’s videos and help from gary campbell.
