Quick tip series

I love it! Looking forward to more tips! I experinced the restart issue by accident and it took me a bit to figure out what you showed in the video.

Thanks! Keep em coming!

I agree, making them seems like a great idea. Here are some other topics that I think people might be interested in.

  • How to know when to replace rack and pinion gears. I think the documentation make it clear they are a wear item, but I’m not clear on how worn is too worn.
  • While I’m sure none of us here would make this mistake; I think how to load a bit into a collet might be a good short. It is easy to think you know how to do it, then do it wrong.
  • I know this topic has been done before, but a visual example of chip load too low and too high might be useful.
  • What is needed for multi axis milling. I know it is a super broad topic, but something like vcarve cant do it, fusion can if you get the $x/mon package would still be nice short tip.
  • Maybe something about using a diamond drag or a drag knife would be nice. (Although maybe not needed in a world where you can use a laser.)

Diamond drags work very well on glass and metals where lasers don’t work that well. They give really nice detail as well. I did a video on this a few years ago on a brass plate, but they are very versatile and can be used on a lot of materials.
