Probably not but you loose tramming ability in a hard bolt with alignment pins. Chances are it would not be parallel to the work surface. Large VMC’s have a mounting base plate that has lateral movement in the X axis and shim the Y axis. The mounting bolts are large and allot of them. They generally have to check the tram after a collision or spindle replacement not heavy machining.
