The ability to directly message a user seems to be turned off.
Someone DMed me earlier this year though, so that’s confusing. I just spent a long time trying to figure out how to send a DM and it seems to be impossible.
Can this feature be turned back on?
To DM someone you just click on their username and click “message” try it with me here
I don’t have a message button anywhere. I compared with the UI on another forum that uses this same forum infrastructure and every place that I see the message button there, it is missing here.
When you click on a user’s name do you see this:
You should see that now. Your account was brand new and as such was restricted from DMs

No problem! Sorry about that, you must have JUST missed the minimum threshold of posts read/posts made to make a DM, I had no idea that was a thing until now
