Here is my senerio. I dont have 230vac in my garage, I built a heavy duty (more than large enough cable) extension chord that I plug into a 230 vac plug that I added to by my breaker box. When I want to run just the laser, which only requires 110vac, I have to drag my extension cord out just to power the VFD so I can overcome the fault signal and get the EX controller running. Which pins do I need to jumper on the interface cable to “trick” the Controller into thinking the VFD is not faulted.
It appears that the warning can be disabled in the Acorn Wizard, maybe thats my eaisest route.
If my air pressure runs low on the ATC setup, the VFD will send a fault signal. When I don’t need to use the ATC or spindle, I just turn off the power to the VFD box. The fault signal isn’t sent.
I have stock CNC12 and the CNCDepot VFD box designed for Avid (pre-dating EX controller). That box has its own power and power switch.
Thanks, I just turned of the warning in the Acorn wizard for VFD fault and it lets me run. Easy solution. Thanks for your reply.
That solution only works on stepper systems. On servo systems you need to flip a dip switch in the control box.
