407 limit tripped

I think I may have found an issue. When I installed the sensor cables I snugged them a little with a small wrench to ensure they were tight as my fingers don’t work like they used to. Looking into the cabinet I see that the sensor connectors are attached to a circuit board. I just wiggled the X sensor input and noticed some light sparks. I may have damaged the connections from the connectors to the circuit board by turning the connector barrels just a little accidentally.

Update

I pulled the CRP860 board out of the controller and found two pins broken on the X connector on the board. They broke off at the surface of the board opposite of the soldered connections. Easily repairable if I had a spare connector to solder in, but Support at Avid was quick to respond to me and will be shipping me a new board tomorrow morning for next day air delivery.

Thanks for the help troubleshooting this Eric. I thought it would be something stupid simple that I overlooked. It turned out to be just something stupid. Oh well, live and learn. It is a great opportunity to get the connector installed for the probe though! Glass half full….

Glad you got it worked out! I figured it was either software or hardware. Eliminating all of the sensors on the machine pointed you at the control box.

Good work discovering that. Luckily those boards are very easy to replace.

I received the new CRP860 board this afternoon and got it installed in short order. Hooked everything up and all is good now.

Awesome! Merry Christmas!!

Glad you got your machine up and running. I learned the hard way never use a wrench on those connections again! Still have the old board to remind me
