45w laser settings for cutting 6mm baltic birch

Hey everyone,

I’m looking for some help dialing in the settings to best cut through 6mm baltic birch with the 45w laser. Does anyone have settings that are working well?

Thanks!

See this post here: Laser Feed and Speed Chart

I’d start with those settings (make sure you’re cutting laser safe foam!)

If those work, report back. If you find some other settings that work also report back.

If you’re cutting some different foam and you figure out some good feeds and speeds we can add them to that list

Thanks Eric,

I’ve been playing with the plywood setting on both 3mm and 6mm Baltic Birch… they didn’t even come close to cutting through (we’re talking a 0.5mm depth at most). What’s the best way to trouble shoot this?

For reference, I triple checked that everything was correctly set to mm/s, and I’m using the 45w laser calibrated with the 21mm cube.

Appreciate your guidance,
