AV70S Low Pressure Warning

Hey all, I’m getting pretty close to finishing my 5x10 build. During testing I’m seeing the below:

During startup, on CNC12 I’m getting a 9047 Pressure Low message.

I’m running an AV70S with a 4.5 scfm @ 90psi, 1.8 hp 150 max air compressor.

My regulator is set to 105psi, I’ve triple checked my air configurations and tested the tooling release, everything checks.

I think I’m in the clear as I’m sure I do not have have an air pressure sensor, so I should set it to “Do Nothing” in the configuration wizard. Right now I have it set to “Warn me”

Guess I’m just needing a second opinion so I can sleep tonight and move on to squaring and tramming the machine.

Cheers
E

You can disable that warning in the “warnings” section of the wizard. That warning is actually mostly for the laser. The air pressure sensor is internal to the AV70 and won’t allow tool changes if there’s not enough air.

Thanks for the quick reply Eric, I’ve searched through the forums and understand the functionality for lasers a little bit more. I went ahead and disabled it.

Just a clarifying question to your response, is CNC12 reading the spindle air pressure?

Thanks again

No, the spindle itself is “smart” so it knows if there is air, if it’s stopped, faulted etc.

That’s the whole idea with the smart spindle: All of the “smarts” are contained in the spindle itself.

So to say another way: The controller doesn’t have to know if there’s air or not because that spindle simply won’t work without it.

In the near future when we offer full ATC the controller WILL use that air pressure input/warning because our rack will use air and it will be operated by the controller it will need that information.

Currently that air pressure warning is only useful on laser.
