Connecting with Makers

Hello everyone. My name is Greg and I have been involved in product development for many years working for “da man”. I’m considering starting a small business with a product idea that I have been independently developing. Ultimately I aspire to produce components myself, but as I start out, I would like to work with someone to cut parts out of EPS as I beta test the product in the market. My question to you all is what is the best way to connect with someone who would be interested in working on this project? Cutting EPS is not something that typical shops are terribly interested in, but I believe that a maker with a router in their small shop may have interest in a cool, good sized project. Please let me know what you think. Thank you for your help!

Hey Greg! thanks for posting here. EPS foam should be no problem for our routers.

Do you have particular foam you’re looking to cut?

Also, it might be helpful to post your general location to so that you might find someone locally.

That’s a great point that I left out of my post: I am located in Eastern Iowa near the Quad Cities. The material is a typical expanded polystyrene, so very easy to cut, however I do need a decent surface on it. Thank you
