I’ve had my machine since 2015 and my electronics have been temp mounted on a sheet of plywood all this time. For Xmas I gifted myself a 220v water cooled 2.2kw spindle kit from the jungle site to upgrade from hand router. This has lit a fire under my a$$ to clean this up. No, I’m not sharing a pic of it, lol, it’s bad.
I am recycling an old PC case to hopefully hold my UCCNC eth300, power supplies, G540 and the VFD.
The first hurdle was reversing the case door. See pics. When I built my machine I installed the cable track starting on the right side (if you are looking at it.) I want to mount the box right below the track and that would have made it impossible to open the case. I have measured the inside and I have about 17x17x6.75 inches of space.
I am also going to have a sub-panel installed closer to the machine. I am now looking for guidance on wiring up the power for the 220 vfd and 110 for everything else. Should I run two power cords to the case (110 & 220) and keep things separate or can I run a 220 line into the case and split it inside for the 110 stuff?
