Hi all! A new project on my Avid CNC. I’ll post the build video link and a few photos.
I’ve made three of these so far, and I’ll be making one more. The first two were with Mach 4 out of cherry, and then last one (walnut) was with the new Ex Controller and my existing stepper motors. Cut quality is a lot better with the Ex controller just by turning on the various smoothing options. I do see some chatter on certain y-axis movements, but it is not nearly as much as it was before. I think servo motors would take that chatter away, but it is an upgrade I haven’t had the investment dollars for at this time.
