Extend Laser Control Cable

I’m installing my new laser system and I moved my control boxes so they are more accessible for service. It turns out my laser control XLR is just a tad short to get to the top box which is roughly at eye level. Would there be a problem extending it 5’ or so with a 20 or 22 gauge shielded mic cable? If not I can swap my VFD (bottom box) with the new Aux Box (top box). All my other cable are plenty long enough.

It should be fine to extend it. That cable you show is wrong however, it’s supposed to be a 4 pin cable.

Contact support and they can get you setup with a longer cable (we stock those as they are the motor cables for our stepper systems)

I misunderstood what was getting plugged in and where. The XLR from the laser head goes to the remote arming box and the remote arming box goes to the aux box. I have more then enough cable and flexibility.
