Gantry LED strip lighting

Neon underglow cars were a real scourge back in the Fast and Furious 1 days…

This however is a great use of one of those kits because I suspect it’s built to handle weather and “living life 1/4 mile at a time” so it’s probably great for a dusty environment.

Great idea - I have one that I got for my progressive reloader that fits under the die plate, and it definitely makes a difference.

When I was reading this post I realized that I had some leftovers I had from under cabinet lighting which might be suitable. They have a nice diffuser and can be linked to create the desired length…

Here’s a link to my under gantry lighting system with step by step instructions and links to all the required parts.

Cheers!

Hey, I like your spoilboard setup. Mind attaching a file of it, if you have one?

Hey, I picked up from Avid’s Website here; https://www.avidcnc.com/support/instructions/machineSetup/spoilboard/fullsize/#vectric-vcarve-pro-aspire

And I ‘ve attached it also. But all the info is at the link above.

Enjoy

It looks like the file attachment was rejected but as I said you can grab it from the link.

@Eric I just today ran an extension cord through the cable track to support USB-C power bank and other AC powered accessories for a few add-ons to the gantry, then got to wondering if there is any concern of AC running alongside all the other control cables. Did you ever encounter any issues?

Not an electrical engineer

I’d imagine it would be fine as long as the cabling is shielded. Your spindle cable is 3 phase and it’s shielded, just like our sensors cables.

Seat of the pants: probably fine. Your mileage may vary.

At first glance I thought it was different than the one Avid has. I guess it was the wooden cam levers that threw me off. I’m definitely going to route out some cam levers! Thanks!

Oh, okay this file will hopefully pass, it’s only 1mb. I hope that works for you!
