Is there a way to import the tool table from mach4 to EX controller

Is there a way to import the tool table from mach4 to cnc12?

No, you’ll have to rebuild it from scratch.

Even if you could all of the tool heights would be irrelevant anyway…

Adding to this, the stock Centroid tool table seems to be totally inaccessible to anything. Vectric tool information can’t move over either except through the posted G-code.
The table itself is binary so you can’t even look to see what is in it.

What is that you’re trying to accomplish? You shouldn’t need to alter anything in the Centroid tool table at all. Lengths are automatically measured and diameters are recorded when you input them during a tool change.

Your tool “library” is in your CAM system (so Vectric/Fusion)

Agreed.
What I wanted to do was import all the descriptive information from my Vectric tool library. There are a lot of tools, with important descriptive information like “Downcut”, “Ballnose”, V-bit, etc. My workflow is to do CAD in one room and send the g-code files to my ncfiles folder in CNC12 at the machine. When I do things like load the ATC rack or look at my CNC12 tool table it’s a lot more helpful to see the tool descriptions than just a tool diameter. There are a lot of times I have to run back to the room running Vectric, open the tool library, and look in there.
So, transferring the descriptive information would make it easier than retyping it all. It ain’t the end of the world, for sure.

Ahh, sounds like you have a full ATC rack?

Right now those tool descriptions are not utilized at all with our “MTC” workflow on Centroid controllers.

When we get to our software implementation for ATC (which we are actively working on) that may change. For the moment there is no way to import a tool library from any CAM program.

Maybe I have my terms mixed up, I have 18 tools in holders, in mach4 there is a tool table that has the tool description and the length difference from tool #1. Not a problem I can set them up in cnc12. The bigger problem is there is only 1 open relay and I need 2 for ATC functions. I would think your deployable laser is using one and I don’t have that so could I use that relay space? Is there a diagram that shows what the relays are operating ?

We are actively working on a solution with CNC depot and will have a diagram to publish shortly showing how to wire it in.

ok thanks, well I can say for one thing the New EX system has brought some life back to the forum, and you are a busy guy answering all these questions, and for that I thank you!!

I/we are trying our best! With big changes like this come some excitement and of course a few growing pains. The questions and feedback are great and really helpful.

One fundamental difference is that we do not do a “master tool”. All tools lengths are the distance of top of Z travel to top of work surface (spoilboard).

We’ll have a solution to publish very soon. We are working directly with CNC depot on this.
