J-Tech laser on Deployable Laser System?

I own the Deployable Laser System with the included Opt 15W laser.
It’s an awesome system but I may need a bit more power in the near future.
I own a J-Tech 24W module as well and I’m curious to know what it would take to swap them out - if at all possible.
There are J-Tech laser Configuration Preset options in the Wizard>Advanced>PWM Setup page so clearly something jives.
Would it be wired through the DLS control box?

I replaced the OPT 15W that came on the AVID deployable system with the OPT 45W. Works great.

I have done this myself for prototyping. It absolutely can be done.

If you compare the schematics for J tech lasers to ours:

https://www.centroidcnc.com/centroid_diy/schematics/pbrowse.php?term=j%20tech

https://www.avidcnc.com/support/instructions/laser/technical/24.2/schematics/

The wiring for the Jtech is nearly identical, and we have exposed all of the needed settings in “our” wizard when you choose “custom”

You’ll have to come up with a mount for the deployable laser plate. I 3D printed one and it worked fine. It was a pretty basic plate with some threaded inserts. Nothing special.

Sweeeeeeeeeeeeet

I see a few Centroid schematics…

Can I assume having a CNCDepot spindle with it’s Delta VFD qualify as the Generic version?

Really all you need to worry about is this connector on our control box:

This is what brings the PWM signal out of the box. That’s what would need to get fed into your JTech box.

NOTE: Our PWM is cut off by the control when the laser is NOT deployed. This is a safety feature.

Thanks Eric!

No problem!
