I’m not sponsored by this place or anything remotely close to sponsored by anyone but I bought this course for vetric software and holy smokes did I learn a lot. I’m old and not real smart but Kyle has a great easy to follow course for all the vetric software it was a couple hundred bucks but damn was it worth it! Anywho hope it helps people like me who are struggling on their own. The whole analogy of you don’t know what you don’t know sounds stupid until it doesn’t. Carve on my crazy friends.
Kyle make some great stuff for sure! I just met him in person a few weekends ago at Maker Camp.
Great guy and some great courses.
Please share more info on the classes. Very interested . Thank you. Awesome that you went to Maker camp and awesome that AVID had a presence at Maker camp. I think Jimmy Diresta gave a little shout out to Avid on the Making Podcast!!
Here is the link. Tell Kyle Kurt sent you. The classes are great!
I’ll add my support to recommend Kyle. Excellent knowledge and teacher. His course takes you right through from raw beginner to advanced. The weekly live classes are great when I can get to them, but they’re recorded so nothing is lost.
What is the format? Is it web based or is that a book of DVD’s/Blu Ray’s?
Thank you! I really appreciate it!
It’s an online membership based learning platform. It keeps track of your progress, so you continue from where were last time. Has little tests after each lesson, so you know that you understood it… or not. The lessons are videos of Kyle taking you through each step. If you have screen space, you can follow along on your software.
The best part imo is that as you go through them and begin a project you can go back and skin to where you need for your application. And Kyle is quick to respond to any questions etc. like I said I’m not sponsored but this helped me quite a bit in advancing what I did on my Avid. I like to recommend things that help me so here it is.
Did you get the rotary stuff lessons by chance? I like to think I know a bit about aspire in general. I answer a few questions here and there on FB and other places. But I lack knowledge on the rotary stuff. I know the lessons have it but how detailed is it? I set it up and make square things round. I can carve text on the round things. But after that it gets much more complex. I have not found a good resource to go beyond that.
For example - There is a barley twist round table in the vectric files. I downloaded and cut that. I watched the video about how it was created. A bit of math to get things to line up. The video says how it was done but not why it was done that way. I can probably recreate a barley twist but I want to create other things.
The classes come with a lot of aspire info. Not sure on the rotary. Kyle is really quick to answer any questions and is actually a nice guy. I reached out to him in the beginning of his website by the same name. Hope this helps.
There are two levels of classes is what I meant. The more expensive one that includes some extras for Aspire. I was wondering if you had the extras and could give more info as to what they actually contain. Maybe I will just ask Kyle directly.
I got the full package because it had the rotary classes. Alas I am nowhere near up to them so I can’t comment on them.
I too got the whole enchilada. It is and was worth it. I watched them all like a kid at a candy buffet. I then realized I cannot remember half of what I watched and the use the videos by their content as needed. All in all some of the best learning money I spent other than avids onlyfans account. Good content there.
Update: I got to the two rotary lessons. The first was basic setup stuff, no real meat. The second is, well, not there yet so if you are looking for this I would wait. I read there is a couple lessons in his “live” sessions. I haven’t gotten to those yet.
