Machine movement

When I try to run a job the machine starts up goes to 0,0 and then moves then stuters and the z goes down and I get a 327 Fault. What I notice is that the DRO reads that the machine is at a certain position and it is nowhere near that spot, which is why I am guessing I get the fault. I can’t figure out why it is happening. I can home and jog the machine and even use my ATC. Anyone have some insight?

Looks like the issue described here:

@Eric helped me with that. We tried many things. Last thing was to update the Z Axis firmware two or three weeks ago. I didn’t get the issue since then but I’m still monitoring because it was quite random.

I’m not getting a drive fault. It’s a generic job fault. I think it’s telling the machine to be somewhere and it isn’t. I’m just not sure how to fix it. Strange things was that I was able to run a job but now running into this.

Actually, on my side, it started with a Drive Fault. We did a couple of changes in some CNC12 parameters, but then it gave me a “327 Fault: job cancelled”. Then the next step was to update the firmware of the Z motor and now I don’t get this error anymore (so far).
Here is a video of the last issue I got:

And the machine was loosing its home position.
I think it really looks like what you are describing.

So I just spent quite a bit of time with Ahren on the phone and ultimately we adjusted the z motor in the settings and everything is working again.
