Mount a spoiler

Hey guys, I’m seeking advice on mounting a spoiler board. How did you do it?

I used these standard instructions, however I used slightly longer screws and added in a washer to get better purchase. I found that the screw heads would just dig into the mdf without the washer.

I mounted 2x3 on the side of the beams, then I surfaced them so the were all the same height and flat. Then I just drilled and screwed the spoil board to the 2x3s. This avoided all the issues with trying to align the tnuts with the holes.
