My original controller laptop died so I have to set up a new one. Do I need to run the SCU on the new laptop? I gave it a shot but it can’t seem to find the smooth steppers. Old computer still communicates fine, just crashes when I run Mach 4. My only guess is I’m missing something in the firewall settings on the new laptop. Any suggestions?
Yes you do! Follow all the instructions Avid has a how to install and configure Mach 4 video check that out it’s about 15 minutes long that helped me also make sure you’re properly connected to your control box and the control box is turned on and you don’t have anything else hooked up to the computer
It might be a good idea to update your patch cable if you haven’t done that in years
