Toolpath issues

I have been creating signs for my local church and have run into a bit of a snag. I used a 60° V bit on my avid 4848 Pro, and a cut a little too deep from my liking. I am using a soft wood such as pine just trying to figure out if I should use a different tool path or if I should go with what I have and fill it with epoxy. Thanks in advance everybody.

I usually use the Vectric simulator to figure out if the depth is ok or not. The two things you can do is either switch to a 90 degree bit, or even higher when text is really big, that will make the cut shallower. The other is to set a max depth so that it will cut a flat bottom in the middle to keep it from going too deep. The latter looks ok if you you are painting the text. If its wood finished, then I like the higher angle bits better because you still get a nice clean V in the middle.

What CAD/CAM software are you using? Fusion? Aspire? VCarve? or something else?
