26.1 Avid CNC Deployable Laser Kit

I just received my 26.1 Avid CNC Deployable Laser Kit and had question regarding the following step of the installation:

Were do I find the explanation for these 3 mounting heights to determine what i should go with? I have a 4 HP plug and play spindle from AVID. Thank you!

My interpretation, it’s based on the height you installed the Cylinder Nose Bracket in a previous step. For a MTC spindle, like the 4hp, that would be the lowest group (by color).

The highest position is suited for the new ATC system.

Lower is for your spindle.

You can use the middle mount if you want to work on taller stuff.

Is the older style with one rail compatible with the ATC?

Yes but you’ll lose a bunch of tool holders because you’ll need to space your tools out a lot more because the laser will hit the adjacent tool with that older deployment system

Okay thanks Eric I’ve sent in a request for the proper replacement parts

The Aux Box that came with the updated laser kit doesn’t have labels at most of the connection points. The instruction do a good job of explaining what goes where but I was still going to add my own labels for all the laser connections. Is it currently unlabeled because the aux box is intended to be so modular that the configuration could change down the road? I don’t want to make the labels overly permanent if they may change in the future.

The labels are inside the door of the control box. The fixes inputs and outputs are labeled, and there are spaces where you can write your own in.
