8075 fault on tool setter

I started my machine up this morning and I couldn’t get the MTC to work because of an 8075 fault with the tool setter. The tool setter has been working perfectly ever since I set up the machine last year. I’ve checked both connections and they seem fine. I blew out the sawdust in the tool setter swithch and blew out the main control cabinet and they are both clean. The tool setter is in Aux 2 like it has been since it was installed, but the error won’t clear. It seems to me that the only reason this could be happening is a bad cable or switch. I used it without issues for about 20 hours last week. I’ve checked the magnet on the touch off plate in the rotary and it is not touching anything metal. What should I check next? I’ve read all the forum posts and they all seem to be connection errors and I think I’ve eliminated this unless the cable is shorted.

What happens when you press and release the tool height setter, do you see the message in the message box show that it triggered and cleared, or does the message never change?

When I started it up and pressed and released the tool height setter it cleared and I was able to finish the tool change. I had tried cycling it quite a few times before and it didn’t change, but I guess it freed up. Is the sticking a simple lubrication issue? it seems like it moves easily enough, but I had pressed it alot earlier. I guess it knew Eric was asking!

It requires VERY little travel to trigger that thing. Make sure it’s well cleaned out. Did you get one of the first runs of these right when they first came out?

I bought the machine about a year ago, so I think they were out for quite awhile before I got it.

Ok, I’d just make sure you keep it clean. You can always check when the machine is idle to make sure it working.

It’s a normally closed switch so if it does fail mid-job it won’t let you change a tool, so it won’t damage itself.

Is the actual switch located behind the front plate or deeper within the tool setter, requiring more disassembly? the diagrams don’t really make this very clear and I don’t know enough about this type of switch to clearly recognize it.

I’s a very simple mechanism. You can take the cover off and look at it. I’d just blow it out with air until it works though
