Did my first ATC toolpath with total success. The only issue during the entire upgrade was caught by Eric, as I forgot to change out the E-Stop button.
NICE! Glad to hear it! How’d it feel NOT having to wrench tools in? ![]()
Awesome, I enjoy the automation challenge. Now it is on to workflows. Thanks again.
So I finally reached a point where I was ready to test the system uploaded 5.4 CNC 12 and I was getting a network error was not pinging when connecting I’d add a added a CAT5 connector to reach the aux box and I think that was the cause so when I ran a new cable came up and ran but I did not see any way to manually change the tool maybe haven’t got there yet I wonder if I’m going to have to change any wiring since I have a generic ATC spindle is there a video that shows the operation of a manual tool change for generic spindles
?? We should have provided all of the ethernet cabling and connectors that you need… Can you explain this?
No but it works just like the smart spindles, you just don’t get the sensors or the button on your spindle.
For a manual tool change just hit the MTC button on screen
Yeah that was not very clearly stated, I’ve had some health issues lately. A macular hole in the left eye. Its hell to get old these days. Remember when cncdepot spindle were the rage and your wrote some great instructions to get them running. So I was wondering if any of that needed to be reverted back to a stock config.
I had to mount my box at the back of my machine, so I needed a longer cat5 cable so I tried one of these, but it failed to get a ping, so I made a new cable and it booted up.
But now I can’t clear a low pressure warning. Now I had my own pressure sensor wired up per your help back in the day, so I feel like that might have something to do with that now that there is no air going to that sensor anymore. I re-routed case and drawbar lines to the aux box.
Did you use the new estop we sent? You can’t use your existing one or your aux box will never get air
yes I replaced the estop, also I cannot get the rack to cycle, I hear the solenoid trip and for just a second or two one side of the rack will release then get tight but no retract or extend, also not getting drawbar to release, when I first set it up I was testing and tried to release tool, but it did not, then I tried spindle warmup and it slung the tool out. I’m going to go through it again tonight and see.
Sounds like you have only one air line hooked up on your rack if one side is trying to extend and not the other…
well one side stay locked hard as a rock and the other side just releases, it does not try to air piston it just kinda lets loose for a bit and you can wiggle it back and forth just on the lft side. i am more concerned about the drawbar not working
Sounds like from your other post you got this solved?
