Is there a video showing how to set up an Intercon program to flatten a slab, or in my case a “cookie”? I see Eric’s re: drilling holes. I’m new to this and would like to a walkthrough of the various settings in the rectangular pocket menu. Thank you
There’s no video right now that shows how to make a slab toolpath, but the rectangular pocket is what you want.
Really all you need is a tool change and a rectangular pocket and you should be good to go.
Gotcha. As this is my first project, I’m just uninformed about the other settings: plunge rate, plunge angle, stepover, feed rate. Would you be able to provide a brief overview of how to set these up? I’m using a Whiteside CNC Spoilboard Surfacing bit. Thanks
If you are that green I’d start with making a rectangular toolpath in VCarve or Aspire. That will take a lot of the complexity out of this.
As far as feeds and speeds that is hard to answer directly… You don’t want to go to slow and burn up the bit, but you don’t want to go to fast.
Assuming you have a NEMA 34 stepper machine, 200 inches per minute taking .125 off or less per pass would be a very rough starting point.
