Slab Slayer pocket toolpath generator

Hey all, in some of the free time I had I whipped up this little utility:

It’s the “slab slayer”. It’s for folks that just want to get a quick pocket toolpath for flattening things like spoilboards, slabs, etc.

You can find the app here: https://slabslayer.vercel.app

I have done some testing on it and it works fine for my uses, if anyone here is interested in testing it out please do. It’s designed only to work with Centroid powered controls.

This is NOT an official Avid project, this is just a hobby of mine.

Will it use any bit, or just the slab slayers?

Ha! Probably

It’s meant for any bit. I just named it that for fun

Eric:

Awesome utility. I need a Slab Slayer button on my CNC 12 screen.

Is there anyway to develop a one direction raster strategy? I notice when flattening figured wood where there is end grain that the end grain wood fibers are bent in the direction of the pass. You need to sand far enough to eliminate this or when you put the finish on you see strips (Been there, done that).

Thanks for all you do for the community.

Pete

For the PC challenged person like me How do I download this utility?

Thanks

Pete

Sure, but you’d have to traverse all the way back over each pass which would waste a lot of time, that’s why I didn’t implement it originally…

My guess is that passes that are closer together are more efficient time wise?

This is a web app only, you can only run it in your browser.

You’re welcome! This little utility was a fun little side project I did!
