Ethernet with EX

Has anybody else had a problem with the ex-controller hooking up to/through the ethernet port? I have a new laptop with an internal ethernet port. After going through the Windows settings, firewall, anti-virus, Ethernet adapters, and related drivers, none seem to help. Any ideas are welcome.
Thanks FOR THE HELP

Did you run the PC tuner?

figured it out

What part of that guide ultimately solved your issue?

Check out the PDF in the last post

I am aware of the PDF, but there are some basic troubleshooting steps and then some advanced network configurations you can do.

Did you follow every step in the document, or did the basic troubleshooting steps solve your issue?

I went through the TB until I reached deselect the IP address auto, and that worked

I had a similar issue last week when first trying to connect to the Acorn board with my PC. I’d run the PC Tuner but it wouldn’t allow me to connect to my network controller. Everything else went fine.

I bought a dedicated Dell PC to use for the system and had preloaded my Norton Anti-Virus software before the Avid machine arrived. The PC tuner asked me to uninstall the Anti-Virus software, which I did, but I still had connection issues. I ended up running a “restore to factory settings” then everything went just fine.

I didn’t do anything with the static IP address so I’m not sure if this was the issue or if it were remnants from my Norton installation that were causing the issue.

Hope this helps anyone else with this issue.

Had you previously run the PC tuner? It should have done that for you…

Interesting…

The PC tuner will configure a static IP address for you, so if you didn’t have one previously you do now otherwise you wouldn’t be able to connect to the controller.

Thanks for posting this. The tuning software would not modify my NIC on its own, so I had to set the static address myself.

It should do that. Did you run through all of the PC tuner tasks?

Yes, minus where it wouldn’t let me select the NIC. The PC Tuner displayed the NIC I have and I could click it, but then wouldn’t let me proceed to configure it. All other PC Tuner tasks completed.

Eric - I am switching out my CNC pc, I also had to set up the static IP manually to get the connection to the EX controller working. The PC tuner would not allow me to complete NIC setup, kept stating “No adapter selected” despite clicking on it.

noted. I’ll look into it.

For what it’s worth I had a similar experience with a Dell Optiplex 7020 Micro with an Intel NIC. For testing purposes I used a USB → Ethernet adapter and the tuner saw both adapters but would only allow me to select the Realtek NIC.
