EX Control Touch Plate Issue with .50 inch EM

I am running into an issue when trying to run the process to measure the XYZ with a .50 EM. .250EM works fine. It will measure the Z axis and the X Axis but when it goes to Y the machine will move to the back of the plate touch it backup slightly and touch it again and stop. The screen is showing contact with the back wall just like it should but just stops and ultimately does not measure. This seems to only happen with the .50 EM
