To run the tool change cycle you’ll need to press the MTC button on the main screen. This will guide you through measuring the length of the tool. You will need to have the touch plate setup and calibrated however. Have you gone through the user guide?
@LucasPe I have an CNC Depot Spindle with that Autaomation Direct VFD. Would it be possible to do a quick recap of the steps you did to get the spindle to work with the EX Controller?
If you look above in the thread, there is a picture posted, i switched the cable from R10 to R1, i bypassed the solenoids while leaving an airline so the air sensor doesnt trigger a fault in the vfd and thats pretty much it. Switching the wire solved all my problems. I still havent gotten a pin out from avid cnc so i also bypassed the fan with an inline switch so i csn turn it on when running a job. Hope this helps
Thanks, I will give this a try this evening. @Eric, is there a sticky somewhere in the forum for users with the EX Controller and the different VFD’s that are not part of Avid CNC documentation and how they were able to get them to work?
Thanks, @LucasPe, switching from R10 to R1 did solve the drive error from coming up. I still have to work on getting my spindle to start up. Also, thanks @Eric, I will keep an eye out for that docuentation.
@LucasPe , thanks for the heads up. That did end up fixing my issue and after bumbling through centroid interface, I was able to get the warmup going. Thanks
No problem! I was struggling with getting the spindle started as well, luckily kthe pendant has a spindle on button, but for people without the pendant the spindle warm up is the only way to see if the spindle will kick on or not. Maybe Eric will put that button back in when they do a revision in the future
