Spindle Won't Turn On

I purchased a CNC Depot RM40 Turnkey ATC package a year ago but did not install it until now while doing the Servo & EX upgrade.

I purchased the “EX-CNCD-02” Controller CNC Depot Retrofit Kit from AVID and followed the guide that Eric posted. The drawbar clamp is functional but I can’t get the spindle to turn on.

I believe the VFD is receiving commands. For instance, the display will change to the following:

F 0.00 if the AVID EX Control Box is Off
F 0.13 if the AVID EX Control Box is On
F 20.49 if M3 S8000 is commanded in MDI

Any ideas on what steps I should take to troubleshoot the problem? My electrical troubleshooting skills are on the low side. Thanks

Try checking this on the VFD hookup:

Thanks for the link, I did swap the wire from R10 to R1C, but it’s still not turning on. I also noticed that CNC12 will display an RPM value so it thinks the spindle is on. I’m not sure if this matters but why does the CNC 12 read as “8000 A” instead of “8000 RPM”?
