I’m trying to figure out if the standard 8in gantry height is enough to cut a 6in tall board. I don’t know if the 8in is from the top of the frame to the spindle, or the bit or what? What is the actual vertical cutting ability?
I have a standard 8in gantry. My spoil board is currently about 1.5” thick and the clearance between it and the gantry is about 7.5”. The distance from the spoil board to the bottom of the ISO30 tool holder, at Z0 or the raised most position, is about 9”.
So, yes, a 6” thick material should fit just fine with room for tooling.
