Sorry for the help request.
I am using Vectric Aspire 10.512 and Mach 4 to run. I have a 4x8 machine and a 4HP spindle. The machine is squared/trammed according to instructions–I just flattened the spoilboard with success.
My parts are 0.01 inch too small and it’s affecting assembly.
The width is supposed to be 2.539" but are coming out around 2.528" or less.
I am using a 1/4 compression bit at 20k RPM, 105ipm, and taking 2 passes on 1/2" Baltic Birch plywood. On a different job the cuts came out around 2.533" which is closer but still off.
I’ve tried dropping the speeds down, taking 3 passes, etc but the parts keep coming out about 0.01" too small.
The bit measures at 0.249", but if it’s smaller than 0.25" shouldn’t the final cut dimension be larger??
I’ve also double checked the dimensions in Aspire and it measures at 2.539" as it’s supposed to be.
I’m at a loss here and pulling out my hair. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
EDIT: I just tried a cut with a 1/8 bit measuring exactly 0.125" and the piece came out at 2.521".
I’m really struggling
I might mention VCarve dimensions seem accurate.
