Left over wood from massive cross build

I’m sure there are many wood hoarders just like me. My wood rack and bins are full and I needed to build a heavy duty “dual rail” French cleat system. I just finished a 6-month long project building a cross for my church and I have lots of white oak leftover. It’s all 8/4 material. I have several planks 10’ long. I didn’t take time to calculate BF and weight, but it’s all very heavy.

My old French cleat lumber rack is 12" deep on single rails. This time, I made them 16" deep to sit on 2-rails, due to the weight. Better safe than sorry since this is high on the wall and only accessible by ladder. A little dangerous getting them up and down. But at least I have floor room again.

Last time I made these gussets, I didn’t have a CNC. Unlike last time, the CNC sure made quick work out it!

Wood hoarder? What’s that

Ya got me beat! :joy:

I think you have more, you just organize it better.

That rack I have is some pallet racking I scored several years ago for a great price. It’s awesome but a bit of a curse because it’s so big

Upon second glance, you’re probably right. I’m not showing everything either. I still have an 8’ rolling plywood cart and more planks on top of those oak cabinets. I suppose it’s time to get new projects started.
