I updated mach4 on my 2019 48 x48 pro . The update went fine but I’m having problems with the tool preview window now. After I start my computer everything is fine. If I click on the offset tool tab a grey box covers part of the screen and it can’t be removed. If I click to go back to the start screen the grey box covers the tool preview window. I started a customer service issue with Avid on October 6th and they ask for pictures. I sent the pictures showing the issue and they ask a couple of other questions that I answered and there has not been any communication since. Has anyone else had any problems like this? I can reduce the size of the window and click on the tool preview box and get it to come back but I would like to find a solution. I think the hidden tool path tab is where the grey box is coming from but I’m not a software programmer. I had uploaded pictures that show the start conditions I described.
This happened to mine also when i was running tutorial videos from YT about setup. I disconnected from the internet and the problem went away. I bring out the laptop and leave the CNC PC alone.
I have the same problem. I upgraded Mach from a version around 2 years old (it was stalling during moves), I downloaded Mach from Avid and installed it this morning and it s having problems just like this displaying a blank gray box. I have to close app and restart it completely to restore it. (Laptop is in flight-safe-mode while using the machine, so it’s not from using internet). When it “blanked out” I was manually jogging the machine around. If I minimise the app, the main app minimises away but the gray overlay remains on top of desktop and any other windows, only closing the app completely removes the overlay.
Wow, that fixed the problem I had for every release after 5310 where the toolpath window would undoc from the rest of the Mach4 UI. I thought it was a bug, looks like it was another undocumented feature of Mach4.
Here’s my info. I’ve not been able to test as now the homing process is failing. It’s hitting the bumper on the z-axis, which it never did before. No hardware changes or movement, only the software update. I also checked the diagnostic tab and it shows the sensor is correctly detecting the carriage as it nears, but homing process is ignoring it… I have to hit the stop button to kill it.
Eric,
I rechecked today and I before I went to the tool tab and not the tool preview tab. I unchecked the box in the tool preview tab and that fixed the problem. Thanks for the help and sorry for the confusion.
