Recent upgrade to EX-error code 327

Pro 48X48–with 4hp Spindle–Recently upgraded to EX controller using my Nema 23 motors. Got it all setup and set the boundaries, homed it a couple of times. The following weekend I used machine to make a new spoil board. Have not used it since then (2 months). Turned it on today and I cannot move in any direction. Display shows "home position not set—1) Jog all axes to clear. Nothing will move. So When I hit cycle start I then get an error code 327 Fault: Job cancelled.

Nothing has been changed, no one else has been in my shop or has used my cnc.

I rebooted the PC, restarted everthing–same thing, any help greatly appreciated.

Look at the lights for the XYZA and Y2A on the screen. if they are amber your limit switches are tripped. If that’s the case flip “limit over” and try and jog the machine off the limit switches.

Also check your prox sensors to make sure they work properly: https://youtu.be/g3MMSJ8NxzQ?t=574

If that doesn’t sort it contact support using the link up top.

I checked those-no lights are on and I checked the sensors and they light up when I put a wrench close to them. I’m at a loss lol. Hopefully support will contact me tomorrow. I appreciate you helping me out.

Did you press “RESET” on the screen and try homing? You have to do that before you home. Both of you screenshots show it in a RESET state which will not allow homing.

Yes i hit the “press to reset” button. Nothing changed.

Odd, because in both of your screens the RESET indicator shows that it wasn’t clicked…

It’s possible that some outside hardware item is preventing a full reset, but if this machine was working before it clicking that button should clear the reset state. Do you have your VFD on?

I agree with you. But I repeatedly clicked on the reset button. I even clicked on all the buttons. I powered the EX and VFD units off. Rebooted, powered them both on. Started Ex software. Went to move Z…nothing. X Nothing and Y too. One thing I notice is usually when I power the unit up you can hear the motors engage slightly, like when you power it off. I am not hearing or feeling anything on the unit.

Ok, I’d get in touch with support… that is unless your E Stop is pressed, in both of your screenshots it indicates that the E Stop is pressed.

Can you verify that your E stop button is NOT pressed and that it’s plugged into the controller properly? That would prevent a reset from happening too.

Yes I activated the E-Stop and deactivated it, to test it. I even unplugged it from the controller and tried it too.

Unplugging the E stop from the controller will keep the controller in a permanent e stop state..

So I took the E-stop apart and sprayed it with contact cleaner. Then used compressed air –That took care of it-so far its all working. I appreciate your help Eric!!

No problem! Glad you found it!

Very odd that it failed in that way. You might want to get a new/ second estop just in case because the machine (as you learned) won’t run without it.
