May the 5x10 machine be configured as a smaller machine? Do the table extrusions and linear rails break in such a way to allow for it?
I have a 5x10. You could make the Y axis (the long one) be shorter without cutting any aluminum or rails. The long sides are in 2 pieces. (I think theyre both nominally 5’ halves). If youre willing to cut the rails and extrusions then you could make it any size smaller than 10’
Examining the available CAD model of a 4x8 machine, the linear rails and rack both break in different locations. I should look at the expansion kit instructions to see how these elements are handled.
