I just hit the same roadblock.
I’ll download and update then try again.
I just tried installing the above update and got this error. Not sure if I continue or if I should quit. I’m going to go the safe route and quit until I get some advice.
I did just notice that on the support site they show the profile manager 1.14.4.1 as current. This must have been updated in the past couple of weeks. I’ll download this and install it and see if it makes a difference.
yes that will fix it, you need that latest profile manager
I installed the updated profile manager and installed the update.
I set the xy soft limits (first step under ATC setup). I then was asked if I’d like to calibrate my work surface. I chose yes, then it said my rack was about to extend at which point I get stuck at the same place that started this thread.
You know what I didn’t see that one it did go up a digit 
The update did fix the spindle warmup button.
Well I must have did something wrong because it’s doing the same thing. Soo I cleared out everything except for my old profile in the new profile manager and I’ll start again tomorrow morning. When it’s cooler. It’s got to be something I did..
I have the same issue. The update didn’t seem to resolve the issue. I deleted the new profile and re-installed it then installed the update again and still get the same “501 invalid character, calspoil.mac, line 72” error.

I clicked the link you posted above and downloaded it from Filemail then installed it.
One thing I noticed when using the ATC setup to calibrate tool heights and work surface location the tool rack is already extended and it’s saying that it’s going to extend it again and then I get the 501

Just so I know for sure we’re using the apply update button on the profile manager screen?
I just installed the above update prior to heading out for some lunch. Once installed I went to the calibrate work surface in the ATC setup menu and I no longer get the 501 error.
I’ll finalize the ATC setup procedures when I get back and see how it goes.

You can apply this update right on top of U32 or anything U26 and later. It will patch it
I like the way that locates the caps so nice and smooth 
I just completed all calibrations, located the bins, and loaded all 10 tools.
The only hiccup I had was at the start of the bin locating procedure. When prompted if I had an empty spindle, locating cap tool in the spindle, or needed to change the tool in the spindle to the locating cap tool, I selected needed to change tool. It them prompted me to move to a change location, then prompted me to hit cycle start to change the tool. The light on the spindle didn’t come on and I couldn’t remove the current tool but the prompt jumped to asking if I was using the moving rack or static rack. It didn’t let me make the tool change. I tried a couple of times and got the same thing.
I just exited out of the procedure and did a manual tool change to the locating cap tool then ran the procedure again without issue, of course not selecting the need to change the tool of course.
Might need looking at, or if others have this issue they should know to do a manual tool change prior to running the program.
