Used machine came with a touch plate with an irregular tool contact surface- is this junk now?
I think you can get replacement parts for them. Contact support and ask they will know for sure.
Support reports “cable, yes, plates, no”.

If the brass plate is dinged up you can just remove it and flatten it. I would give it a touchup on a belt sander. The plate is topside referenced to the frame, so losing a.little thickness will not change the thickness of the touch plate overall.
