Upgraded ex-controller with 45w Laser, but the Laser is not firing

I upgraded my old avid pro 48x48 to the new ex-controller and aux box with the 45w laser. Everything works except I cannot get the laser to fire. Using the laser control box I can get it to test fire and used that to set the laser xy, but I does not fire with the utilities or when I generate gcode from vcarve pro. It seems like I missed something in the setup, but I cannot figure it out. I am using the AvidCNC Centroid Profile Manager v1.14.20. I am sure this is something simple, but any help would be appreciated.

Sorry for the typo, the Centroid Profile Manager was v1.14.2.0. I found the latest, I think, version v1.14.4.1. I went back through the installation instructions but got the same results.

Did you set up your G-Code in V carve with tool 99? Did you use the utils button to switch to diode laser?

I did.

I just got mine up and running and I had a couple things that I missed before everything clicked. One big item is the E stop that they shipped with the kit, did you replace your old one with that? Also, besides just having the laser control set to armed you have to click the dial/button each time to enable it to fire. Have you done both of those?

Thank you. Yes I have. I can get the laser to fire with the control box in test mode, but not from the software. The control box always shows that the pwm is 0. I am going to try and write some gcode that just turns on the laser and then look inside the Aux box wiring with a scope.

Does the laser deploy (i.e. the air cylinder drops the laser into position) and the air assist turns on?

Yes. It does everything but fire under software control. I can test fire it with different pwm values from the control module. I am bit baffled right now.

Thanks

Then it sounds like you have all the SW setup correctly and maybe have a wiring issue. I would open a ticket with AVID support so they can walk through it with you.

Thank you.
