Starting a cabinet project and was wanting to use the CNC to make my drawers boxes. Do you have to use sheet goods so Ventric lays it out all on one piece? I was wanting to use some type of hard wood maybe so each side and bottom would most likely be a separate piece of wood. Just seeing if anyone has done this before. Thank for any guidance.
Don’t see why you couldn’t cut sides out of solid. I did similar – Started out with sides/front/back cut to size on the table saw, then cutting dovetalls with a vertical fixture at the front of the CNC. It’s important that you use a clearance tool to remove most of the waste of the dovetails. I used a dovetail bit as a final pass at full depth. Also, if you cut dovetail joints, have a backer board to avoid chip out.
