Ventric Tool Date base help

Hello all.

I’m a super noob to this so please bare with me. I bought a bit off Amazon and trying to build the tool database for it in my Ventric V carve. I’m not sure what to put in for the cutting parameters and the feeds on speeds for this little bit. I try to buy all White Side bits so I can download the info from their web site. If you can help please let me know. Thanks.

Hi Drich

You will need to load it as an engraving tool since it has a tip width.

I would not shy away from buying tooling that does not have a data base with it, as feeds and speeds are a function of material, job, chip load and other factors. Trust me you will get a feel for it with experience. Cory (AVID staff) did a great youtube video on “feeds and speeds”.
Feeds & Speeds with Cory - AVID CNC LIVE! (youtube.com)
You might start with:
Feed: 30
Speed: 18,000
and go from there.

Hope this gives you a place to start
Pete

thank you for the help. I will enter that in

I entered that in to the tool file but still need the step over, clearance pass, feed rate and plunge rate.

Please let me know what you think I should have these at. Thanks again

Here is what I have load for a similar tool:

Please note these just my default and I will edit them dependent on the project.

Cheers

thank you for the help. It has been a tuff road getting my feet wet with this CNC. I was really getting frustrated with it as the learning cure is so steep. I did even list it for sale but I watched more videos and made a few projects and going to keep it as it is very cool when a project comes out perfect.

Feel free to contact me if you need any help. It can be frustrating, but the rewards are worth it.

Thank you, Yes the spoils are very cool.
