I realized that when I was installing the crossmembers for my 5x10. Then I tossed the wooden spacer the instructions called for, got out my metric tape measure, and just marked every 400mm along both sides. Everything lined up perfectly, and the CAD for the spoilboard was a lot easier

I made mine with MDF 80/20 Domino’s and three dynamic hinges The MDF is slightly recessed about a 16th of an inch so I’m referencing my workpiece with the 80/20. I machined a opening for clamps I use the 80/20 for my t slots it is very solid and heavy. The hinges makes it very easy to prop open for different angles plus gains me access to whatever is underneath the machine.

I see you’re a fan of the Sautershop (vario) board as well? :smiling_face_with_horns:

So I’m seeing MOST people use MDF for the vertical spoil board, but wondering if that makes sense given you should never actually be cutting into it? Good quality ply would solve all the concerns about the t-track pulling out easily.

Maybe just worried about flatness of plywood?

I’m not familiar with sautershop however I am a fan of avid’s use of 80/20 and used it in the vertical work holding

Was referring to how you labeled the dog holes for angles, same as their Vario board (I made an uber large version of this).
