Vetric CAM incorrectly placing material

Somehow my parts are being shifted relative to my material and I can’t figure it out…

I set my origin at the lower left corner.

Saved my tool path file and loaded it into CNC 12.

Cnc 12 places all my pieces at the opposite end of the material and I’m getting an error saying my Y axis is exceeded.

What am i missing….?

I ran it through an online g code simulator and it placed the parts correctly relative to my origin point so it must be something in cnc 12 that is causing the shift…

Looks like your Y zero is set halfway or more down the table.

Post a screenshot of your WCS table from the set part zeros menu. I suspect Y has a very high number in it.

You are correct, there was a high number for the Y axis. It was part of the g54 position i had set on my last project so for some reason when I went to use my touch plate to set a new home postion it did not overwrite the last one.

I just set all my columns to 0 in my WCS table and tried running the touch plate utility again and it doesn’t seam to update the position of part 0…. any ideas?

Before turning on my machine yesterday (first time in a few weeks) I performed a slew of window updates but then I re ran the pc tuner.

Sounds like you didn’t let the utility finish.

I’d review this video carefully. This will show you how to setup your first job.

I’m probing for xyz at the lower left corner of my material and it appears to be erroring out after the final move in the y axis. I’m getting the following message:

it does the double tap on the z first, then the x and then the y and it errors out after the second tap on the Y

i figured it out

I set the front of my sheet stock 1/4” to far in the Y- direction so when the touch plate utility was complete the machine tried to move to xy zero it errored out. Dumb mistake but i guess most mistakes are in hindsight, anyways, thank you for the help on a saterday.

Glad you got it worked out!
