I would like to add a brush to my spindle but the rpm are way too high. what is the lowest and safest rpm for the Avid 3hp spindle…and where would I set it in cnc12?

8000 is the minimum RPM we recommend for the spindle. That is preset by default when you select the spindle.
You could try an lower it, but the VFD may not let you. I’m not sure exactly how we have that one programmed.
the mdi let me run it at any speed…but I will use a powertool instead of the spindle for my needs.

The MDI won’t actually let you. It will take the command but it will still run it at the minimum (there’s a small warning in the message box telling you this)
Even if you did lower the setting in the Wizard (Which you can do from the advanced side) I believe the VFD is programmed such that it will not ever let the spindle spin at it’s minimum recommended speed of 8K Rpm.
This is to ensure the spindles with the shaft driven fans don’t overheat.
