What's the difference between leg kit extrusion and frame extrusions?

I purchased a used avid 5x10 and the extrusions are all mixed together. Do the leg extrusions weigh more?

I have a 5x5 PRO. On mine, the shortest extrusions are the legs; next up in length are the cross members, and the longest are the side members that have the gear track for the motors to run up and down (Y-direction). The leg verticals, side and cross members are all 4080 extrusions. The 4040 ones are bracers (look on the avid site for a picture).

I would imagine that the most common one in yours will be cross members, then the shortest ones will be the legs (unless the seller was extremely tall!) and the others will be the ones for the two sides (not sure if there’s two or four of those for a 5x10).

I haven’t weighed them; it seemed easier to describe them by relative lengths.

You can go to our assembly instructions and walk through those, we list the sizes as you go along in the instructions

You can tell a little by the end of the excursion

Yup I looked that instructions, but both are 61” long.

I think the legs use those first picture as I have 4 of those so we are good..thanks for that!

I think you better check that again because I thought that was six legs with that size of a machine.. should have one threaded end also

So I was talking about these pieces…The legs were already put together so I didn’t mess with those.

Cool!!.. enjoy the build

yup it’s fun! Loving it! Thanks Jeff!
