Installing the EX controller on a Platform CNC (Not Avid). Two proximity sensors on the Y main and slave. Two on X and one on Z. Z axis homes okay. X axis homes okay. Y travels in the positive/increasing direction. How to get Y to travel correctly toward the sensors? By the way, Y jogs correctly in both positive and negative directions. Thanks.
You can flip the motor direction in the Acorn Wizard under Motor settings.
Thanks. But, tried that. Y homes back to the sensors. But, jogging direction is reversed. Y+ travels toward the front (decreasing). Y- travels toward the back (increasing). Also, squaring the gantry appears not to work. It kept jerking. Had to stop the homing.
Are you positive you switched the “Direction Reversal”?
..and are you running Avid’s version of CNC12 or “Stock” Centroid?

I tried Direction Reversal yesterday. Y homes back to the sensors. But, jogging is reversed. Y+ is going toward the front of the machine. Y- travels to the back of the machine.
Adding the EX Controller to a non-Avid CNC. Mine is a Platform CNC.
Is the issue that the jogging is always reversed, or just the homing?
Or to ask another way: Is there a setting (reversed or non reversed) that will get your jogging working correctly?
The issue is jogging direction and homing direction are opposite of each other. If jogging is working correctly, then, homing is wrong. If homing direction is correct, then, jogging goes the other way. I tried various settings. Could not get both homing and jogging directions both to work correctly.
From your post history it looks like you’re retrofitting an EX to a custom CNC?
I noticed in your settings that you picked benchtop and @Eric should be able to confirm but I believe the benchtop homes to the rear. You should pick one of the pro models to home to the front.

Switched to “Pro CNC” got homing and Y going in the same direction (toward the front). Worked. Thanks.
