I am trying to install my base spoil board on a new machine 4‘ x 10‘. I keep getting a Z axis work envelope exceeded error. I have seen other posts and none of that has worked for me so far. I think the Z axis is too high in my G code file, but I am an unsure how to correct this. I have recalibrated my tool touch off and my work surface and still I’m getting this error. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
The machine won’t exceed it’s travel limits. It checks your G code to make sure it won’t
The G code you show there has it traveling down to -.25". If you manually jog down to -.25 inches… can you?
Yes, I can manually jog down to -1.9858. I have the spoilboard set on 1/4” material temporarily to cut it. I definitely don’t want to overcut it and get into my aluminum extrusions. This must be something I have done in Vectric VCarve Pro that I am yet to figure out!
Check which side of the material you have your Z zero set to in VCarve
Thx… checked all of that and could not find anything in Vectric VCarve Pro. I did change a few parameters to make sure I had safe Z travel. Saved under a new name and recalibrated my work surface. Possibly calibrating the work surface is where I went wrong! It is working as expected now. This is a temporary spoil board as I am new to Avid and just trying to get comfortable with the machine.
